Fresh Cut Evergreens: Caring for Your Fresh Cut Greenery, Wreaths and Decor

Something to consider if you are considering purchasing our greenery is to remember about this time of the year is the increased traffic in the delivery system for the holidays. We highly recommend that you ALWAYS select shipping week earlier than needed, as transit times are out of our hands and sometimes delayed during the busy Holidays.

It is important to us that our customers enjoy every bit of what they purchase and for the longsest amount of time. Given this is a natural product and no longer living, you have a limited amount of time to fully reap the freshness and optimal fresh cut benefits. Even when certain elements dry out, they can still have a beauty and can be enjoyed for the season. Some varieties of evergreens last longer than others. However, how the greens are handled and what kind of environment is a great factor in this and we hope you can reap all of those benefits!

Here are some helpful hints and guidelines you can avail your self as you seek to enjoy our fresh cut evergreens, greenery and decor this Winter Season.

CARE:

If you would like to keep your evergreens fresh until a desired date or event, open your box of evergreens and spritz them with water but leave them stored in the box/ bag they have arrived in. Store the box of evergreens in a cool dark space until the day you are ready to use them. Fresh Cut Evergreens properly stored this way, and occasionally spritzed, will still be fresh and beautiful when unboxed weeks after it is delivered to you.

When you are ready to display your wreath or evergreens outside, but out of direct sunlight if possible, it's helpful, but not necessary, to spritz the cut ends and greens with water every few days for optimal freshness. Wreaths and other fresh items are prone to dry out inside, therefore if you plan to display your item inside keep away from heat sources, spritz with water every other day. How long will they last? Approximately 6-8 weeks outdoors with proper care and watering, and up to 4 weeks indoors. But precisely depends on several factors, primarily climate. Northern states will see increased longevity and southern states fresh cut items will normally last until January.
